Instruction

Janice offers lessons for all level of adult riders, from beginners to advanced competitive riders. Janice offers dressage lessons, jumping, trail riding, and cross-country lessons.

  • Private hour long lessons on horse provided by Janice - $75

  • Private hour long lessons on own horse - $65

  • Semi-private hour long lesson on horse provided by Janice - $65

  • Semi-private hour long lesson on own horse - $55

  • Cross-country lessons to non-boarders are welcome at $80/hour

  • Larger group lessons available by request.

Note: All cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance or be subject to a $25 cancellation fee. Payment for lessons can be made on PayPal to dovecote.equestrian@gmail.com

Boarding

Full care board is available at Dodon farm, featuring a large airy barn with matted stalls, small group turnout, grain fed 2x a day, and alfalfa and grass hay offerings. Dodon farm features a large indoor arena, outdoor sand ring, dressage setup, cross country jump field, and over 500+ acres of established trails. Boarders are required to take a weekly lesson with Janice at the reduced rate of $60. Contact Janice for availability and pricing.

Haul-ins

Haul in lessons are available, as well as haul-in use of the indoor ring, outdoor sand ring, and cross country field (note, no outside instruction allowed). Contact Janice to schedule.

Cross Country Schooling

Cross country schooling is by appointment only, for a fee of $40/horse and rider. The cross country course ranges from small ground logs to training level corners. The course features two sizes of banks, one at elementary and one at BN level. There are also four ditches of various sizes, and a trakehner. All participants must wear a safety vest, have a grounds person, and wear an approved helmet. Please contact Janice to schedule a time to come and school.

Competition Coaching

Janice is available for coaching at various competitions in Maryland and Virginia, and for course walks. Contact Janice for pricing and availability.

Agent Services

Janice can help you find the horse of your dreams! She will set up horses to try, accompany you while you test ride, give you her feedback on conformation and suitability, and be present during the pre-purchase vet exam of your prospective unicorn.

  • Buying agent - 10% of purchase price

  • Video/ photo evaluation only- $50 per horse
